Making Hands: A History of Prosthetic Arms. 1st ed., Academic Press (Elsevier), 2021. ISBN 978-0-12-820544-0 (print), 978-0-12-820545-7 (eBook).
The grip drawings are loosely based on similar illustrations in the seminal book
The Grasping Hand
by MacKenzie and Iberall (North-Holland (Elsevier), 1994). The original illustrations of "generalized fingers" can be difficult to interpret for some readers, and these alternative drawings were created in the hope of clarifying those concepts.
